Share a massage experience in central Copenhagen
Are you two looking for a shared experience where body and mind settle, and you both receive a massage at the same time?
Couples massage is a natural choice when you want to do something good for yourselves or for each other, combining relaxation, presence and well-being in a single experience.
At God Krop we offer massage for two in calm surroundings in the heart of Copenhagen, where the focus is on quality, skill and a comfortable atmosphere.
For some it is simply a matter of fitting it into the calendar when more than one person in the family wants a massage. For others it is about sharing a good massage in Copenhagen together.
Massage for two is booked by phone or email, since our online system cannot book two people at the same time. We will do our best to find a time that works for you both.
How couples massage works at God Krop
In our experience, everyone gets the most out of a couples massage when it takes place in as much calm as possible. We are able to treat two people at the same time, but we have chosen to do it in two separate rooms, with the option of opening a door between them.
This is a deliberate choice, and it is worth understanding before you book. Many people picture a couples massage as two tables side by side in one room.
Our setup is different: you are massaged at the same time, in adjoining rooms, so you each get to focus on yourselves and give in to the treatment fully, while still sharing the experience and being close by.
You can book couples massage as a pure wellness treatment, or as a sports massage if you need deeper work or help with specific tension. You do not both have to book the same kind of massage, and you can each set your own pressure and pace.
Why share a massage?
There is something particular that happens when two people set aside time to relax at the same moment. Beyond the pleasure of the treatment itself, sharing the experience adds a dimension that a solo massage does not have.
Part of it is physiological. Calm, attentive touch lowers the pulse and blood pressure and shifts the nervous system into its rest state, and the body releases oxytocin, the hormone associated with closeness and trust.
When both people go through that at once, the sense of calm tends to carry over into how you feel together afterward.
Part of it is simply shared time. In a busy life, an hour where you are both doing nothing but relaxing, in the same place at the same time, is rarer than it sounds.
Many couples and friends describe the experience afterward as much for the time together as for the massage itself.
Which type of massage can you choose?
One of the advantages of couples massage is that you do not have to want the same thing. Each of you has your own therapist and your own treatment, so the massage can be tailored individually even though it happens at the same time.
If you want to switch off and relax, a wellness massage is the natural choice, working gently across the whole body with calm, even pressure. If one of you is carrying tension or a specific problem, a sports massage works deeper into the muscle and connective tissue.
It is common for one person to choose relaxation and the other something more therapeutic, and that is no problem at all.
If one of you is pregnant, pregnancy massage is also an option, adapted to the stage of pregnancy and carried out on equipment designed for a pregnant body.
Just let us know when you book so we can prepare the right setup.
Occasions for a couples massage
Couples massage suits almost any occasion where two people want to share something restorative.
It is a popular choice for anniversaries and birthdays, where the experience itself is the gift rather than an object. Couples expecting a baby often book it as a calm moment together before life changes, sometimes as part of a baby shower.
It works well for Valentine’s Day, bachelors celebration with a more relaxed tone, and for visitors to Copenhagen who want to share a quiet hour in the middle of a trip.
It is just as fitting outside of romance. Friends book it together, a parent and an adult child share it, and family members combine their visits. The focus is presence and well-being, not the type of relationship.
What to expect from your visit
It helps to know roughly how a couples massage unfolds, especially if it is your first.
You arrive together, ideally five to ten minutes early, and talk briefly with your therapists about what you would each like to focus on.
You then go to the adjoining rooms and are treated at the same time, each at your own pace and pressure, with calm music and space to relax. You can talk during the treatment if it feels natural, though many find the quiet deepens the experience.
A typical couples massage lasts 60 or 90 minutes. Ninety minutes gives the calmest experience and leaves room to work with both relaxation and any tension.
Afterward, if one of you finishes first, you are welcome to sit and relax with a cup of coffee and a book from the shelf while the other finishes.
A couples massage course as an alternative
A great many couples book our three-hour couples massage course instead of, or alongside, a treatment. It is a rewarding and enjoyable way to share an experience, and it gives you something to take home.
Over the three hours, you learn simple, effective techniques for massaging each other: how to work with the neck, shoulders, back and legs, how to find and ease tension, and how much pressure to use so it helps rather than hurts.
You practice on each other under guidance, so you leave knowing what actually works rather than guessing.
Beyond the practical skills, couples tell us the course is a genuine way to add a little more physical closeness to everyday life.
Learning to give each other a calm, attentive massage at home turns out to be as much about connection as about easing sore muscles, and many describe it as the part they valued most.
It also makes a memorable gift, and a more lasting one than a single treatment, since the skills stay with you.
For visitors to Copenhagen
If you are visiting the city, couples massage is an easy thing to fit into a trip. The clinic is in central Copenhagen, about a four-minute walk from Nørreport Station, so it is simple to reach by metro or train from anywhere in the city.
All our therapists speak English, so there is no language barrier in describing what you want or giving feedback during the treatment.
Because couples massage is arranged by phone or email rather than online, it is worth getting in touch a little ahead of your visit so we can find a time that fits your plans.
How to book couples massage
Our booking system cannot handle two simultaneous appointments, so couples massage is arranged by phone or email. Get in touch and we will help you find a time when you can both be treated at the same time.
Because we are often busy, it is usually necessary to book well in advance if you want to be treated simultaneously. If a shared slot is hard to find, you can also choose to be massaged one after the other.
It is a welcoming clinic, and while one of you waits, you are welcome to sit and relax with a cup of coffee and a book from the shelf. We promise to do our part to make sure you both have a good experience, in terms of both the massage and the well-being around it.
